Dr. Debbie Newsome was presented with the THRIVE Dimension Champion Award for Intellectual Wellbeing at a special ceremony held recently on the campus of Wake Forest University.

THRIVE is a campus-wide initiative dedicated to making wellbeing a part of every experience in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff.  The THRIVE Dimension Champion Awards highlight the leadership and scholarship of faculty and staff throughout the Wake Forest University community across eight dimensions of wellbeing.

Dr. Newsome was nominated for the award by one of her students, who said in the nomination letter: ‘Dr. Newsome starts every class with a mindfulness exercise…. It is really helpful in allowing us to explore our own mindfulness process.”
